The island of Lesvos is ideal for trekking thanks to the wealth of its nature and culture The itineraries described in this leaflet are drawn and landmarked in order to allow visitors of the island to get to know the singularities of each area. There are several points of entering or leaving each trail, so that visitors may adapt their excursion to the time available or to their interest and wishes. A plan of the area is useful. Those who lack relevant experience are advised to plan their trek well in advance and attempt it with more experienced company.

There is no water shortage; springs, fountains and cafes are to be found everywhere, though it is advisable to carry with you a bottle of water.

Some fruit and a sandwich, on the other hand, could appease a sudden hunger stroke, until the next restaurant or cafe in a nearby town, village or summer resort.

In the summer, a hat is indispensable. No other equipment is needed, at least for the four suggested itineraries, A pair of light sneakers will serve your walk fine, but do not forget to take your bathing suit with you, regardless of which you are about to follow.
