SIGRI - ERESOS

Part Km Time Sigri - Tsihlionda 7 1 h 30' Tsihlionda - Eressos 9 1 h 45'

This crosses the barren landscape between Sigri (1) and Eressos. We take the road southwards overlooking beautiful bays with lovely sandy beaches on the way. Beside us, naked mountains stretch their slopes covered with impressive colourful remmants of petrified trees. In the middle of our course we meet the large valley of Tsihliondas River (2). The waters of this river come from numerous streams that run through petrified woodland. They valley has been inhabited since antiquity and the signs of ancient life can be traced in the stone ruins of all the neighboring slopes, From the river we turn toward the crest of the mountain to the east, until we arrive at the beautiful town of Eressos (3) with is lovely beach.
