30th August	Feast of Agios Ioannis	Vafios	This fest takes place in an area, 6 km outside Mithimna

August	Fourneli	Polihnitos	After the fishing boat catches the fish and returns to the port ("Fourneli"), the fish is sold for the feast's expenses

Sunday of Myrrh - bearers	Religions feast at Monastery of Taxiarhes	Mandamados	On the feast's Eve, the people kill a bull and boiled all through the night, singing and dancing. After the morning service, people are offered chick - peas with meat and "Keskeki" (meat boiled with wheat).
